Inspired by the flavorful and complex spices of traditional Indian chai, Tommy and Joel began testing and tasting their own twist on a recipe learnt from an old friend Tommy met years ago during his travels. Gram by gram, batch by batch, Tommy and Joel discovered the recipe which is now Asheville's favorite local chai; AppalaChai!
From its establishment in 2014, Tommy, Joel, and AppalaChai!'s president Katie continue to work towards expanding AppalaChai! in an organic, sustainable, and socially responsible way.
